The Steering Committee, made up by Prof. Valter Cantino (Dean of SAA), Prof. Hasan Hanic (Dean of BBA), Prof. Giuseppe Dutto (Project Coordinator), Prof. Miguel Angel Adame (University of Seville), Prof. Zvonko Brnjas (BBA Project Coordinator) and Prof. Predrag Dedeic (BBA Vice Dean), was held in Torino (Italy), on May 21st 2008.
This was an excellent occasion to gather all the project partners and discuss the state of development of the activities and the forthcoming events of the BUONA project.The main issues at the Committee Agenda were related to reviewing of the project activities within the period from its inception in September 2007 till present (May 2008). The comprehensive Report on the project activities was prepared and presented at the meeting by Project Coordinator, Prof. Giuseppe Dutto. This Report was used as a basis for further discussion.
The above mentioned Report stated and Steering Committee unanimously confirmed, that the following activities were carried out and results achieved:
1. Institutional framework for project implementation has been established:
- Project Steering Committee is formed and activated
- Total Quality Management Board (TQM) is as well in its place
- The relation with local Tempus office was established
- Prof. Dr. Zvonko Brnjas was appointed to the position of coordinator of the Serbian partner operations
- Contacts with the Faculty of Agriculture at the Belgrade University involved in the project JEP-40067-2005 “Higher Education in Agribusiness Management and Economics in Serbia” have been established
2.Implementation of the programme:
- In November 2007 in the premises of BBA, Belgrade, a workshop on implementation of the ECTS system was delivered by Professor Miguel Angel Adame to BBA staff
- The criteria in defining a profile of a Master program consistent with the Serbian environment and the newly enacted University law were defined
- A system of learning partnership between BBA professors and their EU counterparts (SAA professors) was established
- The guidelines for development of adequate teaching material including preparation of syllabi and teaching notes was created
- The schedule for the visits of BBA professor to Turin for the first project implementation year was defined; three BBA professors have already performed their visits
- Mobility towards Seville foreseen by the plan in the area of actions directed to the enforcement of the ECTS system and to the implementation of quality improvement have been carried out
- Purchase of equipment to support BBA was carried out
- Development of the project’s website started and the first information regarding specific project implementation activities is already made available for website visitors
- Activities in the field of dissemination and sustainability were initiated (contacts with the country’s stakeholders were launched by Prof. Hanic and the project’s expert, Professor Culahovic from Sarajevo) and the inception meeting with participation of several representatives of universities have been organized in BBA in the first months of the year.
After thorough discussion Steering Committee has agreed unanimously that the implementation of the BUONA project has been successfully started and that all planned activities have been implemented in accordance to the plan. At the same time it has been emphasized that a very challenging year for the project is ahead and that the project team needs to continue with its committed work at project implementation.
