THE BELGRADE BANKING ACADEMY (BBA)

The Belgrade Banking Academy (BBA) is the partner country beneficiary institution. The Belgrade Banking Academy, Faculty for Banking, Insurance and Finance (BBA) was founded on December 28th, 2004, by three prominent Serbian Institutions: the Atlas Bank, the Kopaonik Insurance and the Institute of Economic Sciences.

BBA is a cofounder and member of the Union University in Belgrade (founded in June 2005), one of the six private universities accredited in Serbia.

Presently, BBA is providing to community a three year undergraduate academic study program (ECTS 180), and two year graduate - Master studies (ESCT 120).

BBA is governed by the Dean, two Vice deans and by the president of the Faculty Council, which is composed of the representatives of the major Serbian banks and prominent representatives of the business community.

Due to its highly competent and motivated staff, adoption of programs of the leading world universities for banking, insurance and finance and the implementation of the highest academic standards, BBA is recognized to be the one of the most prominent higher education institutions in Serbia and the most prestigious in the field of banking, insurance, financial and related disciplines.

BBA’s Curricula and syllabi are based on the Bologna Declaration tenets. Moreover, the system of evaluating professors’ work provides the level of comparability and compatibility of programs with educational systems of the EU countries.

Agreements of cooperation have been signed with a number of high ranking institutions such as Reading University (UK), FINRA of USA, ERENET, the Oracle Academy and IBM Academic Initiative. This is an additional proof that the vision of BBA, from the very beginning, was to achieve high and updated standards of education, but always in line with the market economy and clients’ requirements.

BBA is located in down town, in the pedestrian area, in the building protected as a national value. Over four hundred students could enjoy both the spirit of one century old building and up-today technology innovations. High quality premises, beside the lecture halls, IT laboratories, include three libraries: Institute Library and depositary libraries of UN, World Bank and IMF.
